Services : Solutions for Schools

services for schools

Schools have a varied set of requirements as three main groups of stakeholders − staff, parents & pupils − need to be catered for. Also requirements vary considerably from school to school, so please contact our sales staff to see how we can provide a tailored solution for your school.

Our solutions for schools (click here to view our demo site) allow content and communication to be managed internally and each of the stakeholder groups have different levels of site membership and private areas. Thus students and staff can have their own accounts and can login to interact with the site within specific and controlled areas.

The site operates most effectively split into two sections. The first acts as a brochure for the school with details of its facilities and courses and is changed only rarely, while the second acts as the communications hub for the school.

The Events schedules and calendars can be created to allow upcoming sports and school events to be added to the site and made visible to all site visitors. Timetables and homework timetables can be posted up, as well as reference lists for lesson specific research. Sports and exam results can be posted online, together with other schools specific news. Teachers can post information about research projects and items of interest relating to courses in their own weblogs. Student success stories can be posted online.

The information posted is not limited to text. Photo galleries and even recordings of musical events can be posted online. Forums can allow discussion on academic and non-academic subjects, and certain areas of the site can allow comments to be posted. All such interaction can be moderated or unmoderated, depending on the site requirements.

The articles and comments by an individual can be viewed and tracked. Staff (and optionally, Students) can see who else is logged on and message them privately. The use of specific words in articles can be proscribed by the school to limit abusive misuse of the resource.

Newsletters can be created and sent out to pupils and parents.
